Our speaker, Father John Klassen, OSB, has completed twenty three years of service as leader of Saint John’s Abbey in Collegeville.  After a five month immersion in Spanish language, culture, and hospitality of the community of Abadía del Tepeyac in Mexico, Father John is returning to the abbey to work in abbey development and serve in a variety of ministries. Over the years,  he has given many retreats, short and longer, and most of them flowed out of the experience of Benedictine monastic life.

John grew up on a small dairy farm in central Minnesota and that formative experience has given him the willingness to “look under the hood” when something stops working.  Later education in chemistry and teaching in the university provided plenty of opportunities to utilize this skill set with contemporary instrumentation.  We look forward to his time with us as we “look under the hood” of the operations of our retreat centers and see where the wisdom of the Rule can apply to us.

Your membership covers the registration fees for all of your staff; you only have to pay for your housing and meals.

Transportation will be available from Omaha Eppley Airfield.
